An A-class dancer who's primary means of study was to dance with masters Ola Guroplass and Tor Underberg at events and occasionally in class with Ola Guroplass. By dancing and practicing as much as possible, Bjørn became an "A" class dancer. He had the good influence of many good dancers and musicians in previous generations of his family. Bjørn has judged at many kappleiks including the landskappleik/national competition.
Bjørn is active in several folk music organizations and has served on the board of the National Organization of Folk music and Folk dance, the National Council of Folk music and Folk dance in Trondheim and the Norwegian Folk Music Week in Aal, where he heads the program committee.
In addition to his dance activities, Bjørn is a dairy & forestry farmer. He is active in local politics and was the mayor of Flå, his home county.
